Agilent Series 5000 5DX Is Designed To Provide Complete and Efficient X-ray Coverage for EPE’s High-Volume Production Customers
Manchester, NH. (April 29, 2016): EPE Corporation, industry experts in high-reliability products since 1965, recently purchased Agilent Series 5000 5DX X-Ray system.
“JD” James D. Bell, Jr., President and CEO of EPE Corporation, notes “The Agilent Series 5000 5DX X-ray provides 100% inspection of all solder joints in a volume production environment, facilitating real-time feedback to the SMT process line.” “Time to production is typically under a day for an experienced user for programming an entire panel,” he adds.
This high-speed, in-line X-ray system is designed for in-line or off-line automated process testing of solder connections on printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) with pass-through or pass-back loading. In addition, it inspects both sides of a double-sided panel in 1 pass.
Digital cross section X-Ray images of solder joints are automatically generated and analyzed, including average solder thickness, solder thickness distributions, pin/pad/fillet positional relationships and other solder features that are related to the quality of the solder.
EPE has recently made other capital investments, including the purchase of the Pillarhouse Jade MKII Selective Soldering Machine and the Nordson Dage XD7600NT Ruby FP X-Ray System.
